About our Photo Tours

Adventures thru the Lens Photo Tours are Urban Adventures. The goal is for travelers to:


• Discover and experience a city through the eyes of a local photographer.
• Encourage the observation of new viewpoints and interesting details which might easily be overlooked.
• To improve photography technique.
• To have a more interesting experience and involvement when visiting a city.
• Have fun
 

Our English-speaking Photographers have in-depth local knowledge, a passion for their city and for the art of photography. Photographers are carefully selected for their breadth of style and experience in either travel or photo-documentary/reportage.
So bring your camera and be prepared to walk, shoot and click

Capetown

Capetown Thru the Lens - Colors & Cultures

Walk through the Company's Gardens on Government Avenue along the stately House of Parliament, Parliamentary Museum, The Tuynhuys (Presidents city office build in the 17th century) past the SA National Gallery and the SA Museum. Along the Gardens is the Jewish Museum and the Great Synagogue with its impressive Dom and twin towers. From there past the famous Mount Nelsen Hotel to Long Street. It's architectural melting pot includes Georgian, Cape Malay Art Nouveau and 20th century styles. Striking Victorian building like the Blue Lodge with its filigreed ornaments, the picturesc Palm Tree Mosque at No 185. Depending on time we could visit the Greenmarket Square with its famous African market, stalls carrying anything from clothing, curios, collectibles, artwork, jewellery, books to tourist souvenirs and cafes. We then would walk up to the Bo-Kap, the traditional home of the Muslim community. With its colorful and photogenic little houses situated below Signal Hill it over looks the City of Cape Town with Table Mountain in the background.

MONDAY, THURSDAY: 9:00am - 1:00pm

DEPARTURE POINT: Entrance of St George's Cathedral

ENDING POINT: Bo-Kap

TOURS HIGH POINTS: Anne Frank House, Westerkerk, Jordaan, Westerstraat Market, Fortress of Sjako, Nine Streets, Royal Palace.

LANGUAGES: English, German

COST: 125 € per person

Blackout Dates: 22.12.07-3.01.08 / May - September

• Participants must have a basic knowledge of their cameras.
• We reserve the right to change the route based on local conditions.
• Tours leave rain or shine. In extreme conditions please call the local number.
• We suggest good walking shoes, a lightweight poncho, in case it rains and in high temperatures a small bottle of water & sun hat.
• A lightweight tripod is recommended for evening sessions
• Clients who have not booked this activity in conjunction with a hotel are advised to provide contact details
